Back to the Basics

Throughout the remaining months of 2015 our Pastor will focus his messages on the Basic Essentials of our faith.

November Focus:

Ministry & Missions

Keenagers Meeting

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015 at 10:00 A. M. in the fellowship hall.

Our program will be another new group for us. The "SWAMP DADDIES" Band will be doing some Cajun music.

The theme will be Thanksgiving.

Our meal will be turkey/dressing with all the trimmings provided by Lorna and you do not have to bring anything.

The cost is $5.00 per person.

If you have never been to a Keenagers meeting you are welcome to join us.

KEENAGERS ANNOUNCEMENT

-A one day mystery trip is being planned for Tuesday, November 10th, 2015. The cost will be $45.00 per person and will include the cost of transportation, lunch, and entertainment.

Be a part of a Bible Fellowship Group!

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS for all ages meet each Sunday at 9:15am before the worship service.

If you are not attending a small group now is the time to get involved.

Each week we meet together to seek out the truth of God's word and apply it to our daily lives. It's here that we find community,
encouragement and truth.

You may find a list of available classes on the information table in the foyer, or if you would like someone to contact you then complete a yellow card and place it in the box.

January Mission Trip to Honduras

January 2-10, 2016

This trip will be for the purpose of helping our IMB missionaries with VBS.

The following training will be provided in November for those wishing to participate.

- Child Protection Training

- Prepare Your Heart/Pack Your Bags

- Safety Orientation

Estimated cost is $1,100 - Passport required

Deadline to commit to the trip is November 1, 2015

Before Sunday....

FALL FAMILY FESTIVAL is Saturday October 31st from 6:00 - 8:00pm,

our church will once again offer the children of the Myrtle Grove and surrounding communities an alternative to trick-or-treat.

We need your help in making this a special event for these children. Individually wrapped candy donations are needed.

Boxes have been placed in the church office and the FLC.

We will celebrate the baptism of our new member, Evelyn Aguirre. Pray for Evelyn as she begins her walk with the Lord.

SUNDAY . . . We will focus on

Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Escambia High School

One of the ways MGBC reaches out to our local schools with the Gospel is through Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

On Friday mornings an average of 55 to 60 students (mostly athletes) gather in the Family Life Center (FLC) for a hearty breakfast and an encouraging word from the Bible.

FCA has been meeting at our church for years now.

Please, prayerfully consider offering a financial gift to support our ongoing efforts to provide a delicious meal and a Christ-centered meeting space for many students. Above all, be praying for this ministry to reach students with the life-transforming power of the Gospel.

Next Sunday

. . .

Our guests will be The Master's Men quartet. This musical group from Milton, Florida, will present special music in the 10:30am worship service and then return for the 6pm worship service to present a mini-concert. Don't miss the opportunity to hear some good "country gospel" music. Be here next Sunday morning and evening!

Pastor's Class for New Members

Sunday, November 8 @ 4:30pm - Fellowship Hall

Interested in learning about church membership? The "Introduction to Church Membership" class will be taught by Pastor Ron. A light supper and childcare are provided at no cost. Sign up at the info table in the foyer.

Now it is always "that time of year" -

Lock your car at all times, keep any valuables out of sight. If it is night time (and it will be starting Sunday evening) try to park in a well lighted area.

Toys for Christmas - For Kids

Again this year our CSM volunteers will collect and distribute Christmas toys for needy children. Please bring your donations of new toys to the church office. Additionally, Sunday school classes and groups are encouraged to adopt a family and provide gifts for the children in that family. More information will be provided in the near future.

Please attend lunch in your honor Sunday, November 8th following the morning worship service. The time and effort you invest week after week is truly appreciated.

Please RSVP by calling the church office by Tuesday, November 3rd or placing the bulletin tear-off in the offering plate. Spouses are welcome.

Paid Nursery Help Needed - Scheduled hours include Sunday AM and PM and Wednesday nights. Care is provided for our children birth to kindergarten for scheduled activities. If interested please come by the church office to complete an application. Applicants must successfully pass a background check.

Caring volunteers are needed to help in the church

nursery during the 10:30am worship service. Volunteers

must be church members for a minimum of six months. Call

the church office to volunteer.
