Merry Christmas from MGBC

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."
Luke 2: 1-14
Greetings!

10:30am:  We will observe our traditional March to the Manger which is our opportunity to bring our Lottie Moon Christmas Offerings to the Lord in ceremonial fashion.

Remember, our church goal is $10,000 this year.  I believe that we can reach our goal if each one of us will sacrificially give a gift beyond our regular tithes and offerings.  Currently we have received $7,065.00.  Pastor Ron

Amount needed to  reach goal:  $2935.00

Southern Baptist churches partner with their associations, state conventions and the SBC to do more through the Cooperative Program than they could every do alone.

It provides 30 percent of IMB's total income.

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering provides the largest portion of IMB's income - 59 percent - and gives Southern Baptists a chance to support their missionaries through 100 percent of their gifts.

Hunger and relief funds, field-generated funds, investment returns and other income constitute the remaining 11 percent of IMB's income.

A CSM MESSAGE
memories

Dear Myrtle Grove Family,

I would like to take this special time of year to thank you for the support and encouragement provided to our Christian Social Ministries Christmas Outreach.

Because of your generosity through our toy of  the month, financial donations received during the year and individual adoption of families, we were able to help the children of forty-eight families experience gifts at Christmas.

That is well over 125 children!

The joy that this simple act provides is an overwhelming sight to behold.

The impact of an Acts 1:8 Church can be truly remarkable.

In addition to reaching out to families locally this year, we were able to provide Christmas gift support to the Shalom Baptist Church in Citronelle, Alabama.

As you may know, this church actively supports the MOWA Choctaw Indian Reservation.

Our partnering with Shalom Baptist Church, will allow them to reach out to at least forty families.

That is another 100-plus children that will get to experience the joy of a traditional Christmas morning.

Again, I thank you for your tremendous support of our Christmas Outreach.

I pray that you will continue to participate in this wonderful outreach and remind each of us of the promise Jesus made in Acts 20:35, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Thank you,

Jane Ellen Bennett
