Today 

"The Reality of Things Unseen"

 

This is the title of the pastor's new sermon series starting today and continuing through the month of September.  Each Sunday the pastor will focus on the following realities:  Demons, Angels, Heaven, and Hell and, of course, The Holy Spirit (God in us).

   

 

 

 

Baptism TODAY . . . 9:15AM & 10:30AM

We will baptize new believers in both morning worship services.  Pray for these men and women for protection from the evil one and that they may grow strong into mature believers for the Glory of the Lord.

Ice Cream Social TONIGHT . . . 7PM

Following the 6pm worship service we will have an Ice Cream Social in the Family Life Center in honor of these new believers as well as other new members who have recently joined MGBC.  Our church members are asked to make a freezer of homemade ice cream or bake a cake for this church-wide fellowship.  Everyone is invited...

 

 


 

   

 

 

 

 



VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN THE NURSERY

 

Dear Myrtle Grove Baptist Church

Family,  

 

School is in session once again and today is promotion Sunday. 
 

The nursery needs two teachers who will willingly teach every Sunday.

 

The 4 & 5 year old class needs a teacher for the first hour only.

   

However, we need them to be willing to stay and help the second hour, if needed.

 

The infants and toddlers class needs a teacher for both hours.

:  Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013, 10am in the fellowship hall.

Our program will be presented by Mr. Al Martin on the keyboard.

Please bring a covered dish to go with fried chicken.

DO NOT BRING a dessert as the committee will be serving BANANA SPLITS.

The Myrtle Grove Baptist Church Praize Kidz

 

choir is beginning another year of learning more about praising our Lord Jesus. The kids are excited to sing songs of praise and help lead in worship once a month in the morning worship services.  All children in grades one through six are invited to join the Praize Kidz. Please come!  Weekly rehearsals begin September 11 on Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 6:30pm in room 103. For more information, please call or e-mail Melissa Westman
 

 

Old Veterans: Another display board, this time for past veterans will be hung in the church Sanctuary next to the existing veterans display board. If you served in WWII, Korean Conflict, Vietnam, Vietnam era, or Desert Storm and would like your picture on the board, please submit a 3"x 5" photo (uniformity) of yourself, whether in uniform or civilian attire (in uniform is best)  bring it to the church office and leave it with Betty, I will collect and post them on display in your honor. Be sure to write your name, branch of service and time era you served on back of photo. November 11, 2013 is Veterans Day and would like the board completed a month prior to. Food 4 Kids:  Last school year (2012/2013) Myrtle Grove Baptist Church showed an awesome display of Christian compassion for our "backdoor elementary" schools, Sherwood and Myrtle Grove elementary. The testimonial letters we received from the schools bore witness to that display of kindness. The 19th of August started a new school year (2013/2014) for our kids however, and we as the Body of Christ again are up to bat, so to speak. I will have a child- friendly food list available in the Lobby to take with you. I'm still waiting on a firm date from Walmart Mobile Hwy for Afood drive in September. Thank you! Roland Koomen
