St. Louis Shakespeare New Season Starts July 31

THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF HEDDA GABLER
by Jeff Whitty, July 31 - August 9, 2015

From the Tony-winning author of Avenue Q, this play follows Hedda into the hereafter.  There, she encounters Mammy of Gone with the Wind fame, and they join forces. Along the way, they encounter starlets, leading ladies, and other madwomen locked in the literary attic in this darkly funny show.

WILD OATS
by James McLure, August 21 - 30, 2015
Adapted from the Restoration comedy by John O'Keeffe,  Wild Oats is a rip-roaring romp through the Wild West. Instead of drawing rooms, this comedy unfolds in saloons, stables, and across the rolling prairies.
Wild Oats is filled with Restoration tropes, long-lost sons, and separated twins.

TWELFTH NIGHT
by William Shakespeare, October 2 - 11, 2015
Cast away in a foreign land, twins Viola and Sebastian are separated in a shipwreck, each presuming the other lost at sea.  Mistaken identities, prankster servants, and a triangle of determined, yet unrequited, lovers make this one of Shakespeare's most beloved comedies.

RICHARD III
by Williams Shakespeare, April 8 - 17, 2016
A brilliant military commander, Richard, Duke of York, cannot be content in a "weak piping time of peace." As Richard centralizes power and makes a play for the crown, his motives grow increasingly ugly - sending him, enraged, into a bloody battle at Bosworth Field against Henry Tudor.
