Kirkwood Arts Commission and Kirkwood Arts' Groups:  Let's Get Started!

Earlier this year, City of Kirkwood Mayor Art McDonnell and the Kirkwood City Council established a Kirkwood Arts Commission. The inaugural Commission is excited about the opportunity to highlight art-related activities in Kirkwood.  One of our first efforts has been to identify organizations that produce, promote, and educate in varies areas of the arts. Please take the time to communicate with us regarding your upcoming events and volunteer needs. There is a Kirkwood Arts Commission page on the City of Kirkwood Website (link) and a Facebook page (check us out here!). We can promote your events and programming on both of these pages to help inform the general public.

To get your event or program listed, reply to this email, or send your information to Terry at:  TSibbitts@ktg-onstage.org.   Please include the nature of the event, the location, date, time(s), contact information, and a photo if you have one.

CALL FOR ART:  ART JURY

We will keep you all informed about arts-related news as well.  Our first announcement is a Call for Art for the established Kirkwood Area Arts Council's Art at the Station. Selected artists will have their art on display for a month, with an opening reception. This is a juried process for artists interested in displaying their art at the Kirkwood Train Station.  The art display will include at least 12 finished pieces that can be hung at the station. The jury panel will review art on Saturday, November 15, by appointment only. Interested artists should contact Linda Epp at: lindaepp@peoplepc.com or by phone:  314-821-2250.

That's all for now.  We'll talk again soon.
