PHOTO OF THE WEEK:

Kirkwood resident Stacey Lammert shared this photo of herself and her best friend Samson, posing in front of Hanley, a sculpture currently on exhibit at the Train Station that will be auctioned off to benefit the Animal Protective Association.  (You can read more about that here.) Stacey and Samson had just come from dinner at Amigos and dessert at The Custard Stand when Samson spied Hanley, so they posed for a photo.

Have you taken a really great photograph of something or someone in Kirkwood recently?  Your editor would love to use it in the newsletter.  Simply email it to Info@Kirkwoodmo.org (or just reply to this newsletter), along with a brief description and your name. Thanks!

FROM THE EDITOR: The Mini Blog
My T.I.L.T. (Things I love on Thursday) for today:  Surviving last week and my son's short hospitalization for re-hydration during a merciless seven-day stomach bug; driving my own Bug with the top down for the last two days (and feeling just a wee bit chilly during the morning drives); seeing the media jump all over itself this week to report the birth of a baby (sometimes we need a little good news); watching the flowers at City Hall tumble in blooms that grow bigger by the day, or so it seems; my delicious lunch of mozzarella cheese and locally grown tomatoes; the sea salt / caramel / dark chocolate square I'm saving for when this newsletter is done; finding my phone charger that has been missing for a month; watching all the people today walking around downtown Kirkwood in 80-degree weather at the end of July. Amazing.

Isolated storms tomorrow, partly cloudy on Saturday, and sunny on Sunday - but no temperatures over 84 are predicted for the coming three days.  Doesn't mean we're done with the heat, but I'll take it!!  Have a great weekend, and see you next Thursday!
