| Greetings! |
PHOTO OF THE WEEK: As part of the 7th annual Rail Safety Day, hosted by the City of Kirkwood at the Train Station last Saturday, a crushed vehicle was on display as a reminder of what can happen if you cross railroad tracks when you shouldn't. This year's safety event coincided with the tenth anniversary of the City's ownership of the Train Station, so it also included a short celebration of our volunteers (see photo below in the mini blog).

We LOVE Our Volunteers!
This past Saturday, we celebrated TEN YEARS of owning the historic Kirkwood Train Station. We also honored and celebrated the great group of volunteers who keep the Station open for visitors and passengers alike (photo, right). THANK YOU to the volunteers who staff the Train Station and to all those who serve on the City's Boards and Commissions. This is a two-week edition. Your editor will be out of town next week at a conference, where I hope to learn how to improve the way we bring you information. So, by the next time we "meet," it will be May and (crossing our fingers) sunny and warm in Kirkwood. Then, before you know it, the pool will be opening! Be on the lookout for a short survey that should arrive in your inboxes sometime next week. Have a great weekend, and see you on May 9! Beth von Behren
