 Greetings!
Snowy Train Station

PHOTO OF THE WEEK:  Snowy Train Station
Taken from City Hall, looking north from the parking lot.   City Hall is open today, but please stay safely at home if at all possible (CALL us if you need something).  Here is the information that MoDOT sent out yesterday:

CANCELED:  Tonight's City Council meeting and Work Session have been canceled due to the weather.  They will be held on February 28 instead: Work Session at 5:30 p.m., and Council meeting at 7:00 p.m, at City Hall.  Stay safe!

The variety of winter precipitation expected means that roads could become covered with snow and ice as this storm moves through the state. MoDOT crews are prepared for the storm, with trucks and equipment mobilized and ready to go. Once the winter weather starts, the department works around the clock to plow and treat Missouri's most traveled roads, including interstates, U.S. highways, and other high traffic routes. MoDOT will plow loose snow and treat hills, curves and intersections of lower-traffic lettered and numbered routes as needed.

One of the smartest things motorists can do during a winter weather event is stay safely at home, avoiding any unnecessary travel. Should you attempt to travel, take your phone and winter survival supplies, including blankets, extra clothing, and food. If you do become stranded, stay with your vehicle and call 911.

FROM THE EDITOR: The Mini Blog
HAPPY THURSDAY!

My T.I.L.T. (Things I love on Thursday) for today:  Snow (but not ice), the caffe mocha I snagged from BreadCo before the storm hit, knowing my son is safely indoors and NOT driving to work today, the camaraderie of my colleagues today as we watch the snow pile on and fret over cleaning our cars and maneuvering ourselves home tonight, the wonderful work-out I got in this morning before leaving for work (2.5-mile run with five H.I.I.T sprints and a 60-second plank: YAY!), the great citizens of Kirkwood who took heed and stayed home today, music (Dylan's "Tempest" playing on the car stereo this morning), the yummy "Whips" yogurt by Yoplait waiting for me when I finish this newsletter, meeting all of my deadlines these last three days despite it being a four-day work week (and a busy one at that), the weekend ahead (NOTHING planned besides rest and relaxation).  Send me your TILT by next Wednesday at noon, and I'll publish it here (anonymously if you prefer).

There's a lot of snow out there today (and ice and sleet as well), so please be careful walking, driving, and just plain old moving.

Have a good weekend, stay warm and safe, and see you next Thursday!
