NEWS FROM MoDOT
WORK ZONES FOR THE NEXT WEEK

With the exception on ongoing closures, motorists in the metropolitan area should experience few work zone delays next week. MoDOT crews spent time responding to wintry weather over the last week and are now preparing for 2013 work zones, such as construction of the I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge and the Tower Grove interchange project, on I-64 downtown.

MoDOT begins work on the I-64/ Tower Grove Interchange project later this month. This 18-month project, done in partnership with BJC Healthcare and Washington University Medical Center, is intended to improve the flow of traffic around Kingshighway and the east side of the medical campus.

For additional work zone information, go to modot.org. For real time traffic, visit gatewayguide.com. All work is weather permitting and may be shifted due to inclement weather.

FROM THE EDITOR: The Mini Blog
It's only January 3, and already things are hopping around here.  We start our 2013 Biggest Loser contest here at City Hall tomorrow, and that runs for 12 weeks.  If you are interested in losing weight, be sure to check out the SSM Lose to Win program.  Registration opens Monday. The cost is $10 and there are prizes awarded to the top five men and women who lose the biggest percentage of weight.

To help with those efforts, we have Zumba and Boot Camp classes coming up over the next several months as well as Volleyball leagues for adults.  Lots of fun ways to get and stay fit over the winter months.  Check out the registration page here, or call 822-5855 for more information.

Running and weight training work great for me, although I may sign up for the Zumba class too (they have walk-in options available for that one as well), at least until it's warm enough to hit the tennis courts again!

Whatever you do this weekend, stay warm.  It really looks like cold weather is here to stay for a while.  See you next Friday!
