Warm weather is underway. We're currently in summer when there's nothing better than to drop into your local Farmers Market for a leisure stroll. There are so many reasons to take advantage of the fresh produce, handmade crafts, and baked goods. Here's just a couple tips for beginners to get you started

 

  1. Know what's in season: You're present for the Farmer's Market for a reason, right? And, that's for the juiciest and most flavorful produce. Have an idea of what's in season so you'll know which items to take advantage of. If you arrive and you're unsure, feel free to ask. The growers are right there. They'll gladly answer any questions you have.
  2. Be adventurous: Sure the produce is great and all, but it's fun to try new and different foods. Farm fresh eggs, homemade breads, and freshly diced salsa is typically available as well. Come prepared with an appetite of adventure! 
  3. Pack your sunglasses, big floppy hat, and reusable bags for an enjoyable moment breathing in fresh air and purchase fresh foods.

  Funfest  is July 10-18  

Get out and explore your city and surrounding area.  

Check out Bays Mountain. It is free admission for the week of July 10-18.

There are concerts and many more things for you and your family to do. 

Visit the Carousel
During the week of Fun Fest, tours of the Kingsport Carousel facility will be offered, with volunteers sharing the stories of establishing and building the attraction. They will occur at :
10 a.m. on Friday, July 10, Monday, July 13, Wednesday, July 15, and Friday, July 17
Pressure Relief Valves

These valves are self-operating, so the path of least resistance will open to divert fluid when it senses over pressurization of the system. It will then be routed through a piping system (known as a relief header) to a central gas flare to be burnt and released into the atmosphere. The pressure escapes the unit once the fluid is diverted, and the pressure relief valve will close.
