Ascension

While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
Luke 24:51

Just before Jesus leaves the disciples we are told He, "Opened their minds to understand the scriptures." He goes on to recount His purpose, to suffer and rise from the dead to forgive the sins of all nations. The Bible tells us his final words weren't "get your 10,000 steps in" or "remember to vote" or "eat less red meat" or any of the millions of items that fill our schedules and stack-up as our anxieties. Instead, He leaves with a charge: proclaim.

Dear Jesus,
I believe you are real, that you died for my sins, and I am forgiven. Most days I am less certain about when/where/how to proclaim you as Lord of my life. Strengthen me with your Holy Spirit that all I do and say would point to your real love.
