Poison
...but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. James 3:8
The 1970s ushered in cable television, with news reports claiming the coming poisoning of American culture. Soon the courts declared the big 3 networks practice of keeping "family tv time programming" as unconstitutional. Today we rip and tear with our words; through texting, movies, gaming, apps, etc. Would the 1970's recognize our world today? The Savior does. Sin is sin. He sees it in the world, and He sees it in us. Thanks be to God this same Jesus took that poison on himself, rescuing us from this evil!
Dear Jesus,
I try and try, but I cannot tame my tongue. A hurtful thought or word drips from my mouth, mind or heart each day. Clean out the poison of my sin with your healing forgiveness.
