Redeemed

In him we have redemption through his blood...

Eph. 1:7a

The word redemption in the Bible comes from a phrase describing the payment made to free a slave or captive. You and I are slaves to sin. Our choices often regurgitate a yucky mix of self-elevation and self-destruction. These chains restrain our best efforts. We are never strong enough to break free on our own. Through the mercy, grace and sacrificial blood of Jesus, we have been set free, redeemed, rescued from our bondage! Thanks be to God!

Dear Jesus,

You have rescued me from sin, death and the power of the devil. Empower me to love others with the sacrificial love you have given me.

A-men
