Hard-Hearted
And they took offense at him.
Mark 6:3b
Independence day, a celebration of freedoms won. The liberty to say things and do things that make others uncomfortable...not always celebrated, but a freedom won. Jesus taught in his hometown and was scorned, even rejected. Independent thinkers turned their back to the Lord, but the Lord did not turn His back. Jesus Christ died on the cross for the hardest heart. And He died for you.
Dear Jesus,
My quest for independence often leads me astray from your teaching and your truth. Open me to your Lordship over my life. Open my heart and mind to the promises in your Word.
