NWD College Scholarships
This fund was created by generous donors to make it possible for young men and women, who lack financial resources and have the desire and ability to train for full-time service in the church. District financial support is available to all college and seminary students who are attending a synodical school to prepare for full-time service in the church as a pastor, teacher, deaconess, parish worker, DCE, lay assistant or other full-time ministry position. Contact your school's financial aid office to get the District Financial Aid Application and return it to your school before May 15. The form can also be found on our website at:  http://www.nwdlcms.org/Financial_Aid.html

New Resource for Hmong Ministry

Thanks to a mission grant provided by the LWML South Wisconsin District, the Lutheran Heritage Foundation has translated and published Luther's Small Catechism in the Hmong Blue and Hmong White languages. As with all of LHF's books, the Hmong catechisms are available free of charge to the ministries that need them. Also available is the Hmong White Bible storybook, A Child's Garden of Bible Stories. To request Lutheran books in Hmong or any of the 80+ other languages, visit the LHF website at:  www.LHFmissions.org or call the LHF office at 800-554-0723.

New Grants Available for LCMS Congregations, Schools and Districts

The LCMS announced the Stand with Your Community Grant Program, in recognition of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.  A total of $1 million is available for this synodwide grant opportunity, with the primary focus being to inspire and empower laity to actively engage in local witness and mercy outreach events and opportunities as a reflection of Martin Luther's unrelenting passion for all to know the true Gospel. LCMS congregations, circuits, schools of any grade level, universities, districts and Recognized Service Organizations are eligible to participate. Grants will range in size from $1,000-$25,000 for projects spanning from a single event to a two year program. For more information, and to download an application, visit www.lcms.org/standgrants.

VisionPath by LCEF

One tool to move a congregation forward in mission and ministry is LCEF's VisionPath.  St. John Edgar recently gathered their leaders for a day of visioning and planning. Contact Pr. Lambrecht to learn more about Edgar's journey, and contact DJ at dj@nwdlcms.org to talk through first steps or next steps for strategic planning in your church.
