What Did You Call Me?
But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man."
Mark 8:33
Peter. Walks on water; almost drowns. Participates in miracles; denies three times. Gives the testimony on which to build the church; called Satan by Jesus himself. I deserve those sharp words today, for I quietly have lost my way. The computer has replaced relationships and quantity has replaced quality. Afterthoughts become forgottens. Suddenly God's Word awakens me...I have been claimed by Christ...I am His child, I am forgiven. Set my mind on your will, Oh God!
Dear Jesus,
Snap me out of my slumber of comfort and awaken me to the promise of new life in you.
