New Year's Eve. I have measured the past with all its joy and failings. The plans for the new year have me encouraged and full of hope. I am all-in and ready to be a better spouse, better parent, better sibling, better co-worker and better Christian. But like the parable in Luke, I will undoubtedly allow the lamp to go out on my good intentions and worse, fail to answer the knock of my Savior on the door of my heart. Jesus knows my weakness and has waged war in my stead. Serve this year with gladness, knowing the God of judgment has won the battle and claimed you through his Son Jesus!
