Luke gives account of the interaction between Mary and the angel Gabriel. After a short meet and greet, Gabriel concludes with his unbelievable proclamation: the Christ child will be born of a virgin. The above is often chanted as a self-help verse, but we instead are reminded that God is the one truly in control and He does have a plan for our salvation. Like Mary, we are to rest in this truth with servant-minded humility.
