They Will NOT Be Forgotten!
The San Francisco Giants won the World Series. There was no doubt as to who was the Most Valuable Player. It was Madison Bumgarner who pitched 14 of the final 27 innings and did not allow a run. His ERA in this World Series -0.43- was the lowest in 49 years. His 0.25 ERA across his three World Series is the best ever. A Giants fan will certainly not forget the name of Madison Bumgarner.
On that same day there was another name that many in the New England area will not forget. The Rev. Dr. James E. Keurulainen, former president of the LCMS New England District, died in Dedham, Massachusetts. He was 67 years old. He was a parish pastor in two parishes. In 1977, Keurulainen also took on the role of Protestant chaplain at the Norflok County House of Correction in Massachusetts. He continued working in prison ministry for the next 37 years.
