 Webinar-NWD Mapping Tool
I am excited for our time "together" on Thursday September 11 at 3:30pm. Many of you are having multiple teachers sit in...great idea. Our webinar led by Dan will give us a look at the tool and some ideas on where to start. If 10 of our schools opt in, we all save. I hope to have resources to pay your initial set-up fee.
 Dyslexia 101 Webinar

This webinar will cover basic information about dyslexia - what it is, what it isn't - and also address some common misconceptions educators have about this reading disability. Ideas for classroom accommodations and teaching strategies will also be addressed. The presenter is Kara Bratton, Resource Center Director, Lutheran Special Education Ministries.Wednesday, September 24, 2014,    7:00PM - 8:00PM CDT

 Great Teaching Discussion
Looking for a meeting topic for discussion or a quick share item at staff? Consider sharing this picture that describes the type of questions to ask and activities to create to make a difference in the classroom. http://www.teachthought.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/eoe_BloomsTaxonomy.jpg
 NWD Student Grant Awards

The NWD recently awarded over $97,000 to 58 NWD full-time college students pursuing church work as a profession, with 12 enrolled in the seminary or deaconess program. The grants are administered by a committee, with disbursements made based on policy, donor direction, and available funds. Check out more about the program at http://www.nwdlcms.org/Financial_Aid.html

 Team Retreat

Trinity Wausau recently gathered for an all-staff team retreat at Camp Luther to welcome new staff and kick off a new season of serving together. They invited DJ from District Resources to facilitate the topic of teamwork, guiding them through team building activities and group discussion on healthy team relationships. If your team is looking for some intentional strengthening, contact the leaders from Trinity or DJ at District Resources to consider what it could look like.
