IT'S MORE THAN SAYING, "I'M SORRY!"

Recently, in preparing a devotion, I learned something I did not know. On January 30, 1945, the largest loss of life occurred in a single ship sinking in history.  On that night the MV Wilhelm Gustloff, a German ship, was sunk by a Soviet submarine in the Baltic Sea, while evacuating German civilians, as well officials and military personnel.  One estimate claims there were 9,400 people that died including over 5,000 children how tragic! 5,000 children! Why? War!

WAR is defined as "armed fighting between groups" or "conflict."  What war brings about is a loss of life because human beings or human groups could not get along.  When it is all over people will ask was the conflict, was the loss of life worth it.  Hardly!
