Dear Principal,
People need you. Listen and serve.

DJ
NWD Focus

The NWD exists to encourage, network and equip leaders. Call DJ, Dennis or President Lueck as ministry happens in your church and school.

NLSW

National Lutheran Schools Week is more than celebrating the 1376 early childhood centers, 871 elementary schools and 88 high schools. It is more than celebrating the 230,800+ students enrolled in these schools. It is more than a week of school spirit and fun games. It is more than a pat on the back for the outstanding teachers/principals/pastors and support staff that make our schools excellent. NLSW is about celebrating God at work in His Kingdom. Families are transformed, people are changed because Christ is proclaimed. Schools as entry points into God's presence are worth celebrating. Call your area Lutheran School and celebrate them today.

"Our schools are amazing incubators for faithful witness of God's love for us through Christ by teachers and students alike." (Terry Schmidt, Director of Schools)

NLSW 2014 Theme: Witness Always - Raising Up Faithful Disciples

Lutheran classrooms-way to grow!
You're invited to send a jpg (as an attachment) of your classroom in action. Send your photo to:  ed.grube@lea.org.

Remember to register for February 7, in fact, take a few staff members. The speaker is excellent, and the follow-up activities after will be meaningful to a school team working together.

Alert Systems

Did you see the listserv posts on school alert systems? Here is a snapshot:

School Reach is great!

We now use RenWeb for accounting and parent communication.  The parent communication component works well.  I especially find the Parent Alert app on my iPad and iPhone easy to send out messages from wherever.

We currently are with Alert Solutions.  The previous company we used was Honeywell, and I was very pleased with them as well. Both allowed our parents to register to receive multiple contacts: email, text, home phone, cell phone, etc.  We started using this strictly for snow day cancellations, but it very quickly developed into a great tool to announce game and practice changes as well as many other uses.  We can set up 'canned' announcements as well as customized.  A couple minutes typing the announcement into the website, and it instantly goes out to your chosen group (these, also, were built by us in advance - every grade, the choirs, band, each sports team, etc.)"
