SCDA District Meetings

Don't forget to attend your upcoming District Meeting this fall. The following is a list of districts and their meeting dates:

 

Coastal District: September 25, 2015

Important Medicaid Updates

Effective Oct. 1, 2015, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) will require providers to submit the 2012 American Dental Association (ADA) claim form, or its corresponding Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) format, when filing dental or oral surgical claims services using Common Dental Terminology (CDT) procedure codes. Previously used ADA claim forms and their accompanying EDI formats will be rejected for all claims submitted on or after Oct. 1, 2015.
    
Diagnosis Codes

The updated 2012 ADA Dental Claim Form incorporates key Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) changes and includes a new section for diagnostic coding (Field 34) using  either ICD-9 or ICD-10 formats. Do note that SCDHHS will not require the use of diagnosis codes at this time.

SCDA House of Delegates

If you haven't already, please mark down, Friday, December 4, 2015 for the next SCDA House of Delegates/General Membership Meeting.  
 
This House of Delegates is very important as the leadership will rotate and new officers will be installed. The House will consider the 2016 budget, the 2016 legislative agenda and receive many other important reports and updates.
