March 2015
SCDA Annual Convention- Deadline for Early Registration is March 20th!

It is time again to make plans to attend the upcoming SCDA annual convention. Visit www.scdaannualsession.com for all of the details and events for the meeting and remember, the Convention will be held in Charleston this year at the Marriott.

Once again, the SCDA Foundation will be holding its Silent Auction during the Convention. This continues to be a highlight event and the Chair of the Foundation, Dr. Mona Ellis, urges everyone who may have relationships with hotels, beach houses, art galleries, colleges and universities, to please work with those relationships and obtain items for the auction. You may contact her or Phil Latham at the SCDA with questions.

If you haven't heard, United States Senator Tim Scott will be our featured speaker during the DenPAC event on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10 a.m. Traditionally we have had a DenPAC breakfast, but due to scheduling, we will not have the breakfast this year. If you have not signed up for this event, please do.

SCDA Annual Convention 2016 and 2017

Next year's Annual Convention is set to be held in Hilton Head, SC and the site for 2017 is being discussed and SCDA needs your input. There is discussion on whether to hold the Convention in Columbia, SC at the Columbia Convention Center in 2017 or return to Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach. Please take a moment to answer this quick 4 question survey!

Donated Dental Services Program

The Donated Dental Services Program (DDS) continues to grow here in South Carolina. However, we still have pockets in the State where additional volunteers are needed.

The DDS program is a collaborative, direct way that the dental profession reaches out to individuals with special needs. These individuals are our most vulnerable residents: disabled, elderly and medically compromised people who can neither afford treatment nor obtain public aid.

If you have not signed up to participate in this program, please do so today. Contact Dawn at 803-726-4522 today for information on how to get involved.

Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week is April 12-18, 2015
