Compounding Discounts

One of the best benefits of being a member of the SCDA is that you can receive association discounts that can be layered with other discounts that you already qualify for due to good health and how your company is set up. If designed properly, the total discounts can add up to 30% off of your Disability policy and 45% off of your Long Term Care insurance. On top of these discounts, you can also qualify for some tax incentives depending on the structuring of your company.

With the end of the year approaching, it's a good time to review your insurance needs and to see if there are any ways to reduce your taxes. Please contact one of our insurance specialists with Withers Crest to see which discounts you qualify for by clicking here or calling 843-732-3304.

  • Multi-Life 20%

Long Term Care Insurance Discounts

Open Enrollment

Yet again, it is that time of year. Open enrollment is upon us meaning that if you or someone you know is in need of medical insurance coverage for 2015 now is the time to contact the SCDA office for quotes.

For those of you who are currently covered through the SCDA and have participants who are wanting to change deductible plans or add employees onto the existing plan who have never elected to join in the past, now is the time to do so. Please have requested changes into the SCDA office by November 1st, so there is ample time to load all systems for the new plan year.

Any and all plan changes and/or staff additions can be made by printing an application/change form off of the SCDA website at www.scda.org, under "Member Benefits" and sending into the SCDA office.  Under this portion of the website, you can also view the details of the 6 different plans that are offered. Changes will become effective December 1, 2014 and remain in effect until December 1, 2015 when the group plan renews again.

Keep in mind that deductibles always run on a calendar year accumulation.

If an employer wishes to change their office's probation period for the coming year, simply request this on the practice's letterhead with signature and send into the SCDA office. Please keep in mind that according to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), probation periods cannot be longer than the 1st of the month following 60 days, considering coverage must start on the first of a month.

As always, contact me at 1-800-327-2598, ext. 103 with any questions or visit us at www.scda.org

Sincerely,
