Creating opportunities for all to thrive

         e-Touch                                                                      January 2013

LaDonnaTwenty-nine days into 2013 already! But who's counting? Certainly all who have put a very successful Sleep Out to bed. Thank you, thank you, friends!

Probably those whose new year resolutions have already been tested. And surely those of us for whom every new day is gold.

Maybe we should be counting other things like the numbers of families and kids of our community who are going to have better days because this community has over and over again demonstrated our resolve to ensure they do.

Even as time flies by. Even as we sometimes fall short of all we hope to do to change the odds for the people entrusted to our care.

It's the resolution we need to keep, confident in the power of the faithfulness of this amazing community and the ongoing miracles of grace that have brought us this far.

At the end of any day, it's what matters. Stay with us, friends. Happy New Year!

LaDonna Hoy

IOCP Executive Director

Sign Up for Donation Creation and Help Our Hungry Neighbors

Is your organization or family looking for an opportunity to make a difference in your community?  Here's a fun, creative way to build teamwork and help our hungry neighbors: participate in the MN FoodShare Campaign!

In partnership with The Mosaic Company Foundation, IOCP is inviting businesses, schools, churches, families and other groups to organize a food drive and create a food sculpture out of the donated items. IOCP will post the photos at www.iocp.org, and invite all to vote on their favorite.

Minnesota FoodShare's March Campaign is the largest annual food and fund drive in the state and runs from March 1 to 31. It is the only time of the year contributions to food shelves leverage additional dollars. This year, the goal of the IOCP Food Shelf is to collect 90,000 lbs. of food and $90,000 during the campaign to address the growing need in our community.

Sleep Out logoSleep Out 2012: Thank You!

We're delighted to report a campaign total of $1,909,809 for Sleep Out 2012. This far exceeds last year's record breaking total of $1,808,752. More importantly, it means help for 1,670 families in the coming year...help like food on the table, a roof overhead, kids cared for, cars fixed...the critical pieces of life. Removing daily struggles gives families the chance to focus their attention on education and careers, and creating hope for a better future.

Thank you so much for making Sleep Out 2012 an outstanding success! Your generosity inspires our entire community.
