Games, games, games!
HES's Mentors and Mentees spent almost an entire session jump roping on the playground. Another day was spent on indoor games - card games and board games. They report having had a great time together.

Mechanicsville Elementary
Recently the Mechanicsville FLOW group had a "military day," led by two Mentors who are servicemen. They taught Mentees life vest drills.

America Ferrera Promotes the Peace First Prize: Apply by April 12Actress America Ferrera is the National Spokesperson and leads a group of celebrity Ambassadors for the Peace First Prize, a competition which recognizes impressive young people for meaningful peacemaking work that creates lasting good in a community, neighborhood or school. The prize aims to "celebrate small, courageous and transformative acts of peacemaking by young people and inspire others to follow in their footsteps." Ferrera, who was a Peace First volunteer during college, is working to spread the word about the prize which will select five young people to receive a $50,000 fellowship over two years to continue their peacemaking mission.
