FLOW Mentoring in Action

Greenview Knolls Elementary
Mentees and Mentors started work on the
forest grounds, removing leaves and planting some flowers before the rain arrived.

Hollywood Elementary
Games, games, games!
HES's Mentors and Mentees spent almost an entire session jump roping on the playground. Another day was spent on indoor games - card games and board games.  They report having had a great time together.

*****************************

Mechanicsville Elementary
Recently the Mechanicsville FLOW group had a "military day," led by two Mentors who are servicemen. They taught Mentees life vest drills.

Oakville Elementary
Happy scenes of busy (and wonderfully messy!) activity with the Mentors and Mentees at Oakville.

Mentoring in the News

"We can help a person to be himself by our own willingness to steep ourselves temporarily in his world,
in his private feelings and experiences.
By our affirmation of the person as he is,
we give him support and strength to take
the next step in his own growth."
-- Clark Moustakas
(prominent American psychologist, 1923-2012)
