City Church
August 1st, 2013 | volume 6 | issue 31
God has given us two distinct paths to walk in life. The life of wisdom, and the life of the fool. In our new series, "Walk The Line," we will be looking at how a relationship with Jesus Christ will allow us to walk the line of wisdom in every area of our lives.

We hope you can join us at our 10:30 a.m. service! City Church Youth meets at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening.

City Speak

by Lauren Stewart

Many people think that Christians lives are perfect and nothing bad ever happens to them. But if you really think about it, us Christians go through tough times just like non Christians do. The difference between Christians and non Christians is we know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and He is here for us no matter what. I can't even describe my love for Jesus Christ but more importantly I can't describe his love for me and everyone else, it is the deepest and most everlasting love you could imagine.

All of us, everyone on this earth goes through tough times and rocky roads, some people's hard times may be more difficult and hurting than others. But if you look at it from this point of view, pain is pain and it all hurts the same in reality. In my 15 years of life I have gone through many losses of people and even pets, drama, and I have even had issues with body image. And God has gotten me through all of those things, and He still is. I look at my life now as a Christian and before I became one and it is honestly like I am a new person in new flesh, with a new heart. And you know why?, because I am a new creation and I am now a beloved child of Christ- which I always was but now I live for Jesus and not myself. I am proud of the person I have become and it's all because of God. All because of his great love and mercy for me. I got baptized on June 23rd, 2013 and it was honestly the best day in my life. To be buried and renewed with Christ was so amazing to me and it still is. I can't even explain the feelings I had that day because they were just so indescribable. I want to see more people experience what I am experiencing.

I want people to realize how much Jesus loves them. I want more people to just dive into God's word and get so wrapped up in it that they are changed forever. It does not matter where you come from, what you look like, or who you are, no matter how far you let yourself go down the wrong road you can make one wise decision that will change a million others. Follow Christ and live for him. Becoming a Christian will not make hard times go away, but with Jesus Christ as your number one, he will get you through them. Repent your sins, be saved, changed, and set free. I, Lauren Stewart am proud to say Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior.

"They that wait upon The Lord, shall renew their strength, they will mount up with wings as eagles. They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31
