Confession: I have no clue what I'm doing.

And that may seem like a huge problem for a guy who specializes in supporting and resourcing others to help them believe that the impossible can happen.

I have the amazing opportunity to architect and execute the incredibly bold vision of Dean Inserra.  Seeing people take their first and next steps in a relationship with Christ and seeing Dean's vision become reality is what fuels me.  But in an effort of full and complete disclosure: none of us had any idea of how to get where God's brought us today.  The same is true regarding our next steps as a church: we're just as clueless about what's to come.

But there are certainties that I cling to.   I know that God can and will provide.  I know that I serve a mighty God who cares, who knows me by name (Isaiah 45:3), who understands the desires of my heart (1 Chronicles 28:9), who knew me even before I was formed in my mother's womb (Jeremiah 1:5).

And I know that without vision, people will perish (Proverbs 29:18).  Five and a half years ago Dean described to me a church he wanted to start.  Five and a half years later, Dean's vision for that church is happening and is just a strong, just as sharp, and is more clear with each day that passes.

When we say that what we saw at Easter at the Civic Center and Christmas on The Moon can be a reality every Sunday, we really believe that.  When we pray that God would take hold of children's ministry as use it as a means to reach entire families, we mean that.  And when Dean says that it's the power of the Gospel message that is truly going to change lives, we embrace that by living distinct lives that point to a distinct God.

What's happened and happening at City Church is nothing short of a miracle. We can't plan a move of God, but we can certainly prepare for one.  I've told our staff that we can either take responsible steps to manage momentum (have you heard we're going portable and then moving the the Mall?!?!) or we can develop a "mindset of maintaining" (of feeling like we've "arrived").  I'm so grateful for a God who calls us to more and who uses us to point people toward Him, and I'm so thankful that the staff and volunteers that I get to help Dean lead embrace a bold vision to see their friends and families in Tallahassee reached with the Gospel.

Thank you for being a part of City Church.  We say every Sunday that "we're so glad you're here..." and we truly mean that!  Every weekend, we "give away" the message of hope in Christ to those who need it most. In fact, that's what each of us gets (and is called!) to do every day.  There is nothing but opportunity in front of us and Tallahassee has never been more desperate for what Jesus has to offer.  I'm so appreciative for what God has done, and I'm so incredibly anticipating what's to come!
