Aboriginal Business Assistance Program (ABAP)
Last month saw the release of the final report from the Aboriginal Business Assistance Program. This project was aimed at increasing the capacity of Aboriginal businesses to participate in the electricity and renewables industry. Through a variety of tools, resources and facilitated workshops, EHRC worked with over 40 Aboriginal Business owners to introduce them to the nuances of the electricity sector RFP process and gather feedback from them on suggestions for improving how our organizations deal with procurement and the supply chain. For more information, click here.
This project also saw the development of an industry-wide Aboriginal business directory to help connect utilities to Aboriginal business owners who are ready and willing to deliver a large variety of goods and services. With over 5000 business listed, make sure you check it out: www.electricityhr.ca/aboriginaldirectory
Collaboration is a rewarding and valuable experience. Check out our two new videos on SaskPower and what they have learned from their experience. Visit the website.
