Where does the time go? Unbelievably, the holidays are nearly here and 2014 is almost in sight. We are busy getting ready for the upcoming snowmobile season (hopefully we have plenty of snow up here this winter), but we're not through with fall yet. That's where getting away to Tall Timber for a very quiet weekend in Pittsburg's north woods might be what the doctor would order prior to a hectic holiday season, and our Rainbow Grille will be serving for two more weeks before we take a little break after Thanksgiving.
On Friday, 11/29 and Saturday, 11/30 we'll once again offer the "Thanksgiving Weekend Getaway" Package, where you can enjoy clean, comfortable accommodations, hearty breakfasts and dinners at the Rainbow Grille, along with much needed rest and relaxation in the solitude of New Hampshire's North Country. You could even get a head start on your holiday preparation and grab a beautiful and fragrant Christmas tree to go home with. In addition to our Thanksgiving Weekend Getaway Package, the Pittsburg Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club will also be holding it's annual Craft Fair on Saturday, 11/30 at the Ridge Runners clubhouse, so there will be a few things going on in town. Of course, you can also choose to catch up on that book that you never seem to have time for as well ...

"Midweek Snowmobile Escape"
Package Offered in 2014
Many of our guests requested a winter package combining cozy accommodations and great meals at the Rainbow Grille, with the freedom of renting snowmobiles to explore Pittsburg's extensive snowmobile trail system. We came up with our "Midweek Snowmobile Escape" Package to help our guests that don't get up here very often in winter experience the beauty of an old fashioned winter in northern NH. The package will be offered Sunday thru Thursday each week in January and March, excluding the Sunday of the Martin Luther King holiday.
The "Midweek Snowmobile Escape" Package is for two night midweek stays only, and includes a full day of snowmobile rentals (two single snowmobiles or one double), two breakfasts for two and two dinners for two at the award winning Rainbow Grille. Jon, Angus, Dave and Tom will be manning the Tall Timber booth at The Fly Fishing Show in Marlborough, MA the weekend of January 17 - 19.
We had a great time seeing everyone at last year's show and we hope to catch up with more of you this year. In addition to all of the "fish stories", the experts will dispense advice on battling trout and salmon on the diverse waters of Pittsburg.

The New Guy ... Bode
We welcomed another pup to our group of mascots this summer - Bode is his name, and he's quite a little guy. Lots of "puppy", as you would expect, and he has been busy keeping the other dogs on their toes.
He'll be hunting full time next year, but has been under the tutelage of his great uncle, Rudy this fall. He had his first bird point at 4.5 months old last week, so he's learning the ropes from an old pro already.
The big question is how the other dogs are accepting him. Monty (almost 4 years old) seems to like him, except when there's a bone on the line. Rudy (7 yrs) doesn't mind him at all, and Greta (11 yrs) is thumbs down - Bode has too much energy for her!
