It's starting to feel more like summer now - the loons are calling, the hummingbirds are zinging around the lodge, and the trout are busy rising on Back Lake. It's a great time of year to be here, even though we had a bit of snow fall on Memorial Day weekend (we should be safe from that now we hope).  We're entering our prime time for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, etc. and we're hoping that Mother Nature cooperates with us in our outdoor pursuits.  

If it's fishing that drives you, please follow along with our Fishing Blog to give you an idea of what is happening up here.  We've had some nice trout taken on the lake so far this season, with Mike Fitzgerald's massive 5+ pound brook trout taking the top prize. The Connecticut River has been difficult with all of the high water from last week's rain, but hopefully that calms down soon. On a positive note, Lake Francis Inlet and many of the brook trout ponds have been very good fishing lately.
