Thank You MARY!

The Edmonds Arts Commission will miss Mary Monfort's involvement after her service for the past 10 years. In 2003 Mary was selected to fill a general position on the Arts Commission, serving a partial term and then completing two full terms finishing in December 2012. Mary first volunteered with the Arts Commission in 2002 for the Write on the Sound Steering Committee and went on to chair WOTS for several years. Her organizational skills and background in development work with nonprofits were effective in recruiting generous community sponsors for the conference. A strong advocate for the arts, Mary served on numerous committees, including Scholarships, Best Book Poster Contest and represented the Arts Commission in the update of the City Parks & Open Space Plan. Her involvement in other community organizations such as the Friends of the Edmonds Library, helped strengthen a number of partnerships for the Arts Commission and made her an effective ambassador for the arts. We are grateful for the many volunteer hours, enthusiasm, and creativity she has contributed to supporting the arts in Edmonds!
