Hello Summer! Here in Central Oregon, we are enjoying "Junuary", our typical mix of hot, dry summery weather interspersed with cold rain and hail. The herb gardens are greening up and the lavender plants are just beginning to blossom. Outside our downtown store, the little cherry tree is full of hard, green young cherries. The licorice fern has decided to give up its usual diminutive stature and is already almost five feet high! (I'll post a few photos to our Facebook page as soon as the sun shines out again). We are diving headlong into the season with a most fantastic new aroma- Lemon Drop! Thank you all for celebrating with us last Thursday at the launch party. And thank you, Angie Kingston, for sharing a few sprigs of your mock orange- the scent is the perfect compliment to the lemon and our shop smells amazing!
New Lemon Drop body care!

We had so much fun with all you lovely ladies, drinking ice cold honey lavender lemonade (made from raw Oregon blackberry honey, Tumalo lavender and fresh-squeezed lemons) and sipping sweet lemon drop cocktails that we're already planning the next party!

Lemon, of course!

Angelina's Honey Lavender Lemonade
Tangy and sweet, this is perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day!
Ingredients:
2 cups honey
10 cups water
2 cups fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup lavender hydrosol OR
2 Tbsp dried lavender blossoms
Directions: Heat water to about 90deg F. Add honey and stir until fully blended. Add lemon and lavender. If you are using dry lavender blossoms, let sit for at least an hour, then strain. Add ice and enjoy!
Lemon Honey Yogurt Mask This mask is an excellent exfoliator and redness reducer. The yogurt calms irritated skin while the lemon and honey have antibacterial properties that can help prevent breakouts. Lemon helps lighten the skin and reduces the appearance of scars.
- 2 fl oz (60ml) Greek yogurt
- 2 Tbsp (30ml) raw honey
- 1 Tbsp (15ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
Directions: Blend ingredients together until fully combined. Apply to clean, damp skin. Let sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse and moisturize. Use this mask twice weekly.
*Cautions: - Citrus can make the skin sun-sensitive for a few hours, so we recommend using this mask at night and wearing sunscreen the next day.
- Some people are a bit sensitive to citrus juices. Please discontinue use immediately if you feel any irritation.
