Looking forward to fall

August, 2001

Greetings!

Even with the turmoil and violence on our borders, life in Israel goes on pretty much as usual. I guess over time we have learned to keep on keeping on. An Israeli general explained that there is no knockout punch against terrorism. We can only do our best to protect ourselves and punish the perpetrators. That is our harsh reality, we live with it.

So in spite of it all, we are coming (finally) to the end of another steamy hot summer and begin our preparations for the Fall Festivals. This is always a busy time in Israel. Vacations come to an end, families are buying books and new shoes for children getting ready to go back to school, friends from overseas come to visit and enjoy the cooler weather and everyone is looking forward to celebrating the Jewish holidays. The summer period between Shavuot and Rosh Hashana is the longest time without a holiday, and we can't go very long without celebrating something!

Of course most of you can't be here with us, so I thought it might be nice to give you an inside glance at some upcoming events at:
