The older I get the more I've grown to appreciate the everyday simple things of life. I've even come to prefer life's daily routines to the excitement I once sought as a youth. 

I was struck by something our youngest son Elisha said this week. "Why do we close our eyes when we pray, kiss or cry?" he asked. "Because the best things in life are the things we cannot see."
