The time has finally arrived for our family to move out of Beit Immanuel, and after 35 years of service, and with some sadness, we need to move.
All these years we have lived in housing provided by the congregation. Now we are looking to purchase our very own 2-bedroom apartment north of Tel-Aviv. And we are excited. It is close enough to the congregation so that we can continue to work, but it is far enough out of the city where it is a quiet enough to hear myself think!
The Israeli government have offered to provide us with a partial, low interest mortgage in recognition of the years I served in the IDF, and also because this is our first apartment in Israel. In order to close the deal, we need another $30,000 towards a down payment. Over the years we managed to put aside some money knowing this day would eventually arrive, but we still don't have enough to secure a manageable mortgage on the congregation's salary.
This is not an insurmountable amount and we could really use some help with this right now. Any support, great or small, that you might be able to help us with will make a big difference. If you would like to help us, please reply to this email, or click on the link below.
