Sonsored by The Prater's Mill Foundation, Inc., the Prater's Mill Country Fair is one of the Southeast region's most visited Fall events.  Prater's Mill Country Fair, a family-friendly jaunt through history, is centered around the old water-powered, still-operating gristmill which was established in 1855 to grind wheat into flour
and corn into meal.

This legendary North Georgia outdoor folk festival features Southern foods, artists, working craftsmen, and Appalachian-style musicians and dancers.  A celebration of music, Southern food, history exhibits and handmade crafts and original art. Live demonstrations include blacksmithing, quilting, woodcarving, rug hooking and hand tufting, the precursor to the famous tufted carpet industry of Dalton, Georgia.

  • All crafts must be hand made by the vendor out of natural materials - no kits - no plastic.
  • Submit 3 pictures of your work and a picture of your booth  with your name, address and telephone number on each picture.
  • Enclose self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) FOR THEIR RETURN.
  • Enclose information on your work, articles, pictures from other shows, etc.
  • Send $40 for one-time application fee.
  • If you miss the July 15 deadline, you may apply for the 'Last Minute Waiting List' in the event of any cancellations.

The Prater's Mill Country Fair is operated by Prater's Mill Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit 501(C)3 corporation
and is advised by the American Folklife Center of the Library of Congress.
