Quick links to ALL applications are NOW available on the Matthews Alive Home Page. Initial acceptance letters are mailed out early June.

Late applications are accepted based on space availability basis only. Numbers accepted in each category are limited.

Additional crafters who seek to be in a closed category may opt to be placed on our wait list. All spaces are assigned on a first pay, first assigned basis once acceptance is confirmed.

As of right now, our jewelry category still has a few openings. So don't wait! Apply Now!

All spaces are outside and are AT LEAST 10'x10' (some have more room, but none have less). Space assignments and other pertinent information are mailed out approximately ONE MONTH before the festival.

The Matthews Alive! Festival is an annual free-admission, family

oriented community festival which attracts more than 150,000 attendees over the Labor Day Weekend.

The Matthews Alive! Festival was created to provide other local non-profit agencies a method to raise funds by volunteering their time and talents "working" the event.

You are invited to apply to The Matthews Alive! Festival and be among over 150 Regional artisans and 30 food vendors from across the Southeast and East Coast. All media is considered...from fine art paintings, pottery, and jewelry to the more crafty furniture, woodworking, metalworking, ceramics and textiles arts.

Arts & Crafts at Matthews Alive! includes unique and unusual pieces that have been created by our many award-winning artisans. The Arts & Crafts section is open to craft makers and artists whose items are hand-made or hand-crafted.

What is Matthews Alive!?

The Matthews Alive! Festival is a grand four-day family event held on Labor Day Weekend every year providing a perfect venue for Matthews area non-profit organizations to raise funds for their groups. These folks do everything from collecting trash and operating game booths, to participating in the parade on Saturday.

Over the past 22 years, The Matthews Alive! Festival is proud to have been able to contribute more than $1.2 million back to our local non-profits who support our festival through their volunteer service.

About Matthews Alive, Inc.

Matthews Alive, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation managed by area volunteers to promote a traditional Labor Day Weekend Festival in downtown Matthews, NC.

The mission of the festival is to provide an opportunity for local non-profit groups to raise funds for their organization to benefit the community. Community groups volunteer their time by working the event, which in turn provides Matthews/Charlotte and the southeast a festival packed with an array of family activities, entertainment, arts and food.

The proceeds from the festival go directly to these non-profit organizations in order that they may provide services to enhance the quality of life in our area.
