The Andersonville Historic Fair is held every year on the first full weekend of October. Old-time craft makers such as chair caners, quilters, gunsmiths, blacksmiths, and weavers demonstrate their skills.
The fair features exhibitors and dealers in arts, crafts, and antiques.
The Andersonville Historic Fair is a family-oriented festival in the Nationally significant Historic Civil War Village, Church Street, and Farm Park. |
During the Andersonville Historic Fair, hundreds of Civil War reenactors invite the public to their campsites for an eyeball-to-eyeball talk about a soldier's life. Realistic mock Civil War battles are staged. Sutlers (merchants that follow the army) are set up selling guns, swords, uniforms and such small necessities as housewives (small sewing kits).
Fair patrons will be able to watch mock skirmishes and battles scheduled for Saturday at 3pm and Sunday at 2pm. |
