FROM THE DESK OF THE
EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR

Good morning on this chilly, rainy Friday. I trust this email finds you wrapped in warm clothes and the warmth of the Lord!

I wanted to take some time this morning to write to you about how you can help our neighbors to the south who suffered devastation from last Sunday's tornadoes. There are TWO ways that you can help spread God's grace to our neighbors.

FIRST, we are going to start a collection of items that will be delivered to Coal City, one of the communities that suffered the most devastation. These are the items that are being asked to be donated:

Nonperishable food items

Bottled water

Flashlights

Battery-powered or hand-crank radios

Batteries

Medications (over the counter)

First aid supplies

Multi-purpose tools

Hand tools

Sanitation and personal hygiene items

Manual can openers

Matches

Duct tape

Scissors

Buckets

Mops

Sponges

Gloves

Bleach

Cleaning supplies

Large garbage bags

Blankets

Baby Formula

Infant care items

Pet food

Towels

Diapers

Bedding

Tarps

Toilet paper

Paper towels

Containers

Sharpies

Brown lunch bags

Disposable cups with lids

Sandwich bags

Please bring the items in to the Welcome Center by the main entrance NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26

SECOND, on Sunday, December 1, we will be having our Communion Service. As is our wonderful tradition, we will be collecting a Communion Love Offering on top of our regular weekly offering. This particular Love Offering will be split in two and will go to the World Renew Disaster Response Services for relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and to those who suffered loss in Central Illinois from the tornadoes. Please consider how you can help the efforts of these organizations as they give of their time and talents to help assess needs and begin to rebuild both the lives and the homes of those in both areas.

"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'" - Matthew 25:40

Grace and peace,

Richard L. Schuler

Executive Administrator
