Good morning. I hope this email finds you doing well after yesterday's storms. It certainly made for an interesting Sunday for the Chicago Bears game and an unfortunate one for many of our neighbors in central Illinois. Won't you join me in praying for the healing of the communities that suffered terrible devastation yesterday, and won't you join me also in praising the Lord for keeping so many of us safe through the rain, wind and hail? Thank you, Lord. Amen.

Now, I do have some joyous news to share with you, but I think I would rather step aside and allow someone else to share the news with you. This news was shared yesterday at the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services. We wanted to allow this news to be shared with Faith Hammond during their worship service FIRST before it was announced to the people of Calvary. This is why this was not announced at the 8 a.m. service. So for some of you, this may be the first time you're hearing this.
 

To the People of Calvary,

 

It is with great joy that I write you. I gladly accept the call to be the next senior pastor of Calvary Church.

 

Over the last few months it has been clear that the Lord has been leading us and Calvary Church. At each stage of the process the Lord has spoken with clarity. For that, I am thankful. I believe with all my heart that this is what God wants.

 

Starting in January, we together begin the good work of partnering with Jesus in this next chapter of Calvary's story. I'm excited to see what God will do.

 

For now, please pray for Faith Church. There is real pain and loss involved with me leaving. Pray that the God of all comfort might comfort them and show them the great future He has in store for them.

That's right. God has heard our prayers and blessed us with our next senior pastor! Praise the Lord!

 

And now, like we have been throughout this process, we pray again. Pray for Pastor Ron and his family as they make the transition here. Pray that the process is seamless and without hindrances. Pray for Calvary, that she may continue to fulfill the plans that God has for her. Pray for Faith Church, that God blesses them with tremendous leadership that will replace Pastor Ron and help heal their pain and loss. Pray that God may be glorified throughout this entire process.
