FROM THE DESK OF THE
EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR

Good afternoon! I hope this email finds you and your family doing well. In my last email, I talked about the excitement of how we completed the 10,000 Ways to Bless Your Neighbor campaign and how God used you, Calvary Church, to bless our neighborhood and the people around us with His love and grace!

Well, as many of you know, God has decided to bless Calvary Church once again! This time, He has decided to bless Calvary Church with a strong and viable Lead Pastor candidate. I do have new news to share with you, but first, for those of you who were not present at church this past Sunday, here is what your Search Team and your Consistory shared with Calvary:

After a lengthy search and interviews, the Search Team recommended Reverend Ron Citlau to be the next Lead Pastor of Calvary. On Tuesday, October 29, 2013, the Consistory agreed with the Search Team and unanimously voted to extend a call to Rev. Ron Citlau and to notify the Classis of Chicago of its actions.

Yesterday, Tuesday, November 5, 2013, the Consistory met with the Classis of Chicago to seek approval of a call to Rev. Ron Citlau. An update on this meeting is at the end of this email.

This coming Sunday, November 10, 2013, two important things will take place. First, Rev. Ron Citlau will preach at all three services for his fifth time up on Calvary's pulpit. This will be everybody's chance to hear him preach as a Lead Pastor candidate and an opportunity for everybody to greet him. Second, a Special Congregational Meeting will be called on this same Sunday, November 10 at 5 p.m. to vote to affirm the call to Rev. Ron Citlau. We want everybody to participate, so we want ALL of you to come out and hear him preach in the morning and then later in the evening, return to Calvary and vote.

Your attendance will show support to the search team, the Consistory and to the candidate, Rev. Ron Citlau and his family. We strongly urge you to make plans to come on that evening and be part of history once again. We as a Consistory believe that God is leading the way and we are trusting HIM as we continue to follow our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Once the call is affirmed, it will be extended to Rev. Ron Citlau. We trust God's leading in his decision to accept the call to serve at Calvary Church. If accepted, his call will begin in January of 2014.

Okay, so those are the next steps in the process. For those of you who may not have heard Rev. Citlau preach, you may be wondering who is Rev. Ron Citlau? We shared this with the congregation on Sunday. This is a quick, brief bio:

I was privileged to be one of the people to share some of this with you on Sunday, and now I am privileged once again to share with you some more news about what happened last night when we met with the Classis of Chicago. Well, good news! The Classis has given us permission to extend a call to Rev. Ron Citlau. So, now, the only next step left is for YOU to meet him and vote to affirm your Consistory's call to him for Calvary's Lead Pastor this Sunday.

To God be the Glory! See you Sunday!
