For the Week of September 19-26
Vol. 9, Issue 33
Elim Christian Thanks YOU, Calvary Church!
This is a letter we got this week. I'm posting it here to let you know what a difference Calvary is doing in the community and the world! Sometimes we forget that our church IS doing something beyond mere Sunday morning worship. May God be glorified through all of this! If you'd like to learn more about Elim's HOPE Packs, click here. -Matt

Dear Calvary's Children Ministries,

Thank you so much for running HOPE Packs at Calvary Church's VBS this year. Because of your generosity, Elim's adults with disabilities enjoyed meaningful work assembling the HOPE Packs. Because you and your church took the time to minister to them, they ultimately get to minister to children in need of school supplies. Your church's participation demonstrates that we all have a purpose in God's kingdom, and that everyone can achieve their God-given potential. What an awesome testimony of God's redeeming grace!

This year, Calvary Church donated $2,000, enough to assemble 333 HOPE Packs! Your church joined 39 other churches in HOPE Packs 2013. As a whole, you and the other churches joined to collect over $19,000 and generate enough supplies for nearly 3,000 HOPE Packs! Thanks to the partnership we have with Food for the Hungry, these HOPE Packs will get sent all around the world and into countries such as Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Haiti.

On behalf of everyone here at Elim Christian Services it is my honor to say, "Thank You!" It's been a privilege for all of us to co-labor with you on this project.

In Him,
Dan Quist

While the group is geared towards moms of young children, all moms are welcome! New this year is Momtourage "After Hours" - evening and weekend activities designed with the working mom in mind.

Our next meeting is TOMORROW, Friday, September 20 from 9-11:30 a.m. You can also download the Momtourage flyer right here!

CAN YOU HELP US? We're looking for a couple extra hands in our nursery to help take care of the little ones there while their moms are upstairs at Momtourage. We are expecting about 40 kids to show up. WOW! If you're interested and able, please contact Corinne Ufferman at corinneu@calvaryop.org

Faith Foundations Bible Study

Attention All Tenors!

Guatemala 2014 Updates
Get ready for some golf!

A hearty thank you to all of you who supported Team Guatemala 2014 on Culver's Night, Sept. 12! It was a lot of fun to see so many of you there. It is humbling to feel the support you are extending to us. We appreciate you!

This is your last opportunity to sign up for the golf outing to be held on Saturday, September 28 at Deercreek Golf Course. Pray for mild, dry weather for us so we can enjoy our day at the links fellowshipping with each other. It's going to be a fun day! Won't you consider joining us? We have room for you as a single or a foursome. See Gary Deckinga, Denny Dryfhout, or John Voss for information. Sign up in the foyer today!

Advance Notice: Our Love Offering for the communion service on October 6 will be taken to benefit Hearts in Motion. All monies collected will be sent straight to Hearts in Motion as a donation to their ministry. Specifically, we hope to help them purchase construction materials needed for their various building projects, but also we would like to help them purchase breathing kits for newborn babies. These kits are needed to aid birthing assistants who encounter a newborn with breathing difficulties. Such simple items are otherwise generally unavailable in Guatemala but could be the difference between life and death for a baby. Please consider a generous donation to support the work of HIM.

Calvary Cares

Calvary Cares' ministry goal is to assist people in various needs. Often these people include the elderly, widow, single mothers, people recovering from illness and families that are financially on hard times. While the elders and deacons try to address these needs, they often need assistance, both professionally and physically. We also know that many people of Calvary would love to assist, but are not aware of the needs.

If you would like to become involved with the Calvary Cares ministry, please contact either Keith Baar or Randy Kosar.
