VBS Thanks
| |
I'll be back next week for the final part of my thought-series on select chapters of Deuteronomy. This week I wanted to share some space with Tiffany Johnston, our KidsLife Ministry Director who has been running an excellent Vacation Bible School here at Calvary this week. (It's been a lot of fun!) Tomorrow is our LAST day of VBS, so pray for a great conclusion to the week for the kids. Be sure to check our website for photos tomorrow! -Matt
"We had an amazing week at Kingdom Rock VBS! Thank you to all the lords and ladies of Calvary for the huge amount of donations that came in to support our VBS needs and expenses. We provided materials and food for 330+ kids and 130+ volunteers! It was a hot busy week but God blessed us with good health and safety for all.
His amazing love shone out of our volunteers and so many children came to know our Lord and Savior this past week. A huge thank you to the volunteers for their time and energy. So many seeds were planted this past week!
A big shout out to Pastor Dave and Jody leading opening and closing with the Youth Drama Team and the awesome VBS Directors: Becca Dryfhout, Amy Kargol, Sandy Mars, Dawn Smit, Yvonne VanBeveren, Mary VandenBosch, Jenny Weidenaar, and our Decorating Managers, Donna Kargol and Laura Winthrop. Thank you to everyone for your prayers, they were answered! Praise God!"

Pray for Camp Manitoqua's Summer Staff
| | |
We have two members serving at Manitoqua this summer!
Summer 2013 is just around the corner! Manitoqua could not be more excited to greet the many staff, campers and families that will be soon walking their grounds to hopefully encounter their vision: to help people find Christ and grow in their faith. Each year they hire, train and house nearly 80 college-age staff for their summer camping programs. This year, Calvary has TWO members working on their staff this summer: Mark Guthrie and Shannon Gier. One of Manitoqua's hopes is to keep them connected to us while they are serving there with them. This is a perfect opportunity to offer up daily prayer support for Mark and Shannon as well as encouragement through letters, e-mails or care packages. Any questions, please contact the church office at info@calvaryop.org.

Calvary Cares
| |
Calvary Cares' ministry goal is to assist people in various needs. Often these people include the elderly, widow, single mothers, people recovering from illness and families that are financially on hard times. While the elders and deacons try to address these needs, they often need assistance, both professionally and physically. We also know that many people of Calvary would love to assist, but are not aware of the needs.
If you would like to become involved with the Calvary Cares ministry, please contact either Keith Baar or Randy Kosar.
