FROM THE DESK OF THE EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR
Good afternoon on the longest day of the year! I hope you and your family are finding ways to spend all the extra sunshine we're getting in creative ways.
Today, I wanted to take a few minutes and give you a reminder and an update from your Consistory.
We would like to remind you about our congregational meeting scheduled for THIS Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 9:20 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. for the purpose of electing deacons and elders for a three-year term beginning on July 14, 2013, and for the purpose of granting approval for the selling of approximately 0.047 acres of vacant acreage to the State of Illinois, Department of Transportation (IDOT) for the sum of $750.00. This property is located in the vicinity of the southwest corner of 159th Street and 104th Avenue and is for the purpose of widening 159th Street. Ballots and absentee ballots will be available at the Welcome Center this Sunday.
Also, the following motion was made, seconded, and unanimously approved by the Consistory: The Consistory of Calvary Reformed Church expresses sorrow over the sudden passing of Elder and Clerk of Consistory, Russell Bonnema. Our deepest sympathy is extended to the Bonnema family. We give thanks and glory to God for Russ's many years of selfless service and visionary leadership to Calvary Reformed Church.
Finally, Good Shepherd Cemetery, the cemetery that is across the street from Calvary Church, was gracious in setting aside for Calvary Reformed Church approximately 120 cemetery lots. These lots were not purchased by the church. Individuals or families would need to purchase lot(s) if they so desire. Not all the details have been worked out. As more information becomes available it will be shared with the congregation.
See you all on Sunday!
Grace and peace,
Richard L. Schuler
Executive Administrator
