For the Week of April 25-May 2
Vol. 9, Issue 15
Did You Know...?
I wanted to take some time this week to highlight the work that's been going in our 10,000 Ways to Bless Your Neighbor campaign. MANY entries have been trickling in and it's exciting to see how God has been using Calvary's members and visitors to bless the world around us, especially our neighborhood.

On the right sidebar under the calendar, you can see various ways that you can see the blessings that we've publicized online as well as share your own story. I've recently launched a new Tumblr page that catalogs the blessings that we've received. Check it out here. My goal is to publish about ten daily. You'll be able to see those same blessings on Facebook and Twitter as well.

If you're feeling discouraged that God doesn't seem to be working in your life, take some time to read through some of these. Some of these stories are great and uplifting and will give you ideas on how you can bless the world around you. God IS alive and He IS active! Reading these stories only serve to bring that point home.

Remember, we are God's hands and feet in this world and sometimes the only way people will be able to experience God and His grace will be through us.

Zacapa THIS Summer, 2013
Join us in a mission trip THIS summer!

Join Calvary Church and Hearts in Motion this summer in Zacapa, Guatemala on July 19-28. Consider answering His call and join us for a mission trip to Guatemala. With God's help we can make a difference in the lives of people there. All you need to do is say YES LORD!

We will be helping with projects in conjunction with Hearts In Motion. Some of the opportunities we have to serve are:

Helping a small village finish their church and build benches; bringing Bibles; VBS; showing the Jesus film; evangelize and

help with dental clinics and eyeglass clinics; and most importantly, love on all the people we come in contact with: the babies and children in the nutrition center and people in the surrounding villages!

There will be an INFORMATIONAL MEETING AT CHURCH on Monday, April 29 at 7:15 p.m. If you are concerned about training, don't be! We will train you. You will never be the same! Can't make it this year? Consider going in January! See below!

Zacapa in January, 2014

This is a no obligation meeting for you to be able to gather information about this trip. We hope to see you there! Questions? Contact John and Lori Voss at 708.422.4633.

Ministry Serving Opportunities

Is God laying on your heart to get plugged in at Calvary and serve in a ministry? Why not check out the variety of opportunities in our KidsLife programs? Most of the programs are wrapping up the school year, but Fall is already in our sights with preparation! The Cadet program, for 2nd-8th grade boys, is a great ministry for men of all ages to get involved. Or the GEMS ministry is a great place for women to serve. They both only meet two Wednesday evenings a month during the school year! Come and see the heart of these ministries before the end of this ministry season (May) and see how God can work in your life through these programs! Our infants through 5-year-olds are also looking for playmates in the Fall to snuggle and read Bible stories to them on Wednesday mornings during Coffee Break or 2 Fridays a month during MOPS. You will be blessed!

Our Mothers of Preschoolers and More group, are looking for moms of all ages to plan and implement activities for our moms twice a month. It is a great place to bond and share child rearing concerns!

If these ministries are in your field of gifts God has given you, please contact Tiffany Johnston at children@calvaryop.org or give her a call at the church office.
