Happy Easter
| |
From our family to yours, we want to wish all of you a Happy Easter! May we all rejoice in the fact that life does not end at death, but because of Jesus Christ, our Savior's death and resurrection, we can live forever in fellowship with each other and with God. How wonderful is that? Even with life as ugly as it is, there is hope! There is life everlasting! Don't forget that the church office will be CLOSED TOMORROW, Good Friday, March 29.
Have a great weekend with your family!
- Matt

Camp Manitoqua, a local Christian camp we work with, has just begun summer registration. They have many wonderful camp opportunities for your child, whether it's just a one or two overnighter for the young ones, or a full week for 3rd grade and up. Stop by the Camp Table upstairs near The LOFT and Youth area to pick up a Manitoqua packet and a detailed registration letter from the KidsLife and Youth Directors.
Early bird pricing deadline is March 31st!

This program focuses on the 10 warning signs of serious memory loss. It includes a basic overview of Alzheimer's disease and covers risk factors, diagnosis, and the benefits of early detection. Through the use of video footage, you will meet people living with memory loss as they address the fears and myths associated with dementia, and hear from the family members who are on the journey with them. You can download a flyer here. There is no charge for this program, however, registration is required. Call 815.744.0804 or visit www.alz.org/illinois to register.

Mission Trip in January, 2014!
| | |
It's never too early to think about next year!
So, what kind of plans do you have for about the third week in January, 2014? It's not too early to begin to think about an international mission trip. We are beginning to recruit Calvary members who would like to join us for another trip to Zacapa, Guatemala. Does it seem too far distant to even consider? After all, we haven't begun to shake the winter weather from this season and we're talking about January 2014! Yes, but it's important to be able to plan well in terms of things that need to be done on a practical level so we can be as prepared as possible. Are you worried about financing such an adventure? We have some answers and help for you in this area if you are willing to explore the possibility of joining us. After all, if God is calling you to this mission, he will be faithful to provide the means to go. There is always an abundance of work to be done to minister to the poorest people in the country of Guatemala - you do not have to have any specific skill to offer, just a heart of compassion. But also, if you are a person with construction skills or surgical skills, we can use your help in January. We would like to bring a team of construction men who would be interested in taking part in a larger construction project for Hearts in Motion. If God has touched your heart already, start praying about your response to his leading. For more details, see John or Lori Voss. You may call 708.422.4633 in the evening for more information.

Mission Fair Coming Soon!
| |
Please join us for our 2nd Annual Mission Fest on Saturday, April 6.
Our gospel clearly says "go and serve." Most of us are unable to become full-time missionaries but either hope to serve or want to support short- term missions.
Come and hear Eric Hanson, International Missions Pastor, Church Missions Consultant and Short-Term Missions Expert and Trainer, present a clear vision on how that can be done! Come and see how this can be done realistically in our church and a vision of fulfilling those goals.
Come and take part of Youth Ministry Project Experience! The youth ministry will be participating in this year's Mission Festival by creating an interactive museum that tells of the hardships of life in developing third world countries.
We hope everyone will feel God calling and be bold enough to say, "Yes, Lord!" and follow Him wherever He leads after coming to Mission Fest!
Doors open at 8:45 a.m. and we start at 9:00 a.m. and go to 2:00 p.m. See you there!
