For the Week of March 21-28
Vol. 9, Issue 10
Easter is Around the Corner...
I took a look at my calendar today and was startled to find that this Sunday is Palm Sunday already. Easter is coming very early this year (and winter is taking its time in leaving).

So while it may not feel like it outside, Easter will be here before you know it! Calvary will once again be performing a cantata to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the reason why we celebrate Easter.

Our special Easter services are listed below. I do want to make a note that the church office will be CLOSED on Good Friday, March 29. So, if you need to take care of church-related business, be sure to plan on doing it beforehand!

Also, don't forget about our 10,000 Ways to be a Blessing campaign! Be a blessing to someone today! (If you haven't yet seen the theme song for this campaign, we have just uploaded it to our Facebook page. You can check it out right here! No Facebook registration needed.)

Have a great week.

4th Sunday Family Worship This March!
Get ready to worship as a family...together!

THIS Sunday, March 24, both the children and youth will be involved in 9:30 and 11:00 worship services. Tiny Town will still be open for ages 0-4.

The elementary children (and younger ones can join) will each receive a palm branch to process down the aisles at the beginning of the service. PLEASE ARRIVE 20 MINUTES PRIOR TO EACH SERVICE TIME. The children can also greet at the doors and pass out bulletins before the service. We will then gather them to enter the worship center together as they wave their palms. The children will also join the Youth Band in singing a worship song that we have been practicing in The LOFT.

This will be a GREAT family celebration of Palm Sunday and the Holy Week!

Also, please mark your calendars for the following "Family Worship" Sundays:

  • June 30th, VBS Sunday at the 9:30 and 11:00 services
  • September 29th at the 9:30 and 11:00 services
  • December 29th at the 9:30 and 11:00 services

Youth Ministry's Project Experience!
We need your help!

The youth ministry will be participating in this year's Mission Festival (see sidebar) by creating an interactive museum that tells of the hardships of life in developing third world countries. In order to pull this event off, the youth ministry needs the assistance of the congregation to gather a few supplies for the museum. If you would be able to let the youth ministry borrow any of the following items, please contact our youth pastor, Dave Grigoletti, at your earliest convenience. All items are needed at the church by Friday, April 5th and should be returned by Sunday, April 7th.

This is what we need:
  • 1 adult size canvas cot
  • 25 5-gallon water jugs with handles, like the ones pictured below. It must have a cap.

Summer Church Camp for 2nd-12th Grade
It's time to start thinking summer and how your child's life could be impacted!

Camp Manitoqua, a local Christian camp we work with, has just begun summer registration. They have many wonderful camp opportunities for your child, whether it's just a one or two overnighter for the young ones, or a full week for 3rd grade and up. We are very excited to have designated "church weeks" this year where hopefully many of our children can attend camp together. To support the high value we place on church camp in a child's life, Calvary offers financial assistance.

Stop by the Camp Table upstairs near The LOFT and Youth area to pick up a Manitoqua packet and a detailed registration letter from the KidsLife and Youth Directors.

Early bird pricing deadline is March 31st!

Mission Fair
Coming Soon!

Please join us for our 2nd Annual Mission Fest on Saturday, April 6.

Our gospel clearly says "go and serve." Most of us are unable to become full-time missionaries but either hope to serve or want to support short- term missions.

Come and hear Eric Hanson, International Missions Pastor, Church Missions Consultant and Short-Term Missions Expert and Trainer, present a clear vision on how that can be done! Come and see how this can be done realistically in our church and a vision of fulfilling those goals.

Come and take part of Youth Ministry Project Experience! The youth ministry will be participating in this year's Mission Festival by creating an interactive museum that tells of the hardships of life in developing third world countries.

We hope everyone will feel God calling and be bold enough to say, "Yes, Lord!" and follow Him wherever He leads after coming to Mission Fest!

Doors open at 8:45 a.m. and we start at 9:00 a.m. and go to 2:00 p.m. See you there!
