Hurricane Financial Preparedness Checklist

Living in Florida, we probably all know what supplies to have on hand in our hurricane kits. My first-hand experience, having lived through Hurricane Charley as a local community banker and being a part of Ready.gov, has given me some insights into how we all might better prepare financially for the storm.

• Document your household items and valuables on video.
• Review your insurance policies and hurricane deductibles-make sure your coverage reflects the current property value.
• Back up your financial data from your computer files.
